A young woman and her grandmother seek refuge from a blizzard. But it's not the cold they're running from.

Two hoodlums, Trigger (Mickey Rooney) & Leo (Dick Emery) are hired by the unscrupulous J.K. (Peter Cook) to kidnap his niece Victoria (Alexandra Bastedo). The daughter of a wealthy businessman has been kidnapped, and the chief of police, under a lot of pressure to find her as soon as possible, assigns officers Kopek (John Candy) and Broom (Lawrence Dane) to track her down and bring her back safe and sound.

Sun, an autistic man obsessed with finding a means of ending his life but who never succeeds in carrying it out, has to put his plans of suicide on hold once again when Uncle Mok, the owner of a coffee shop and little library called Tiny Butterfly, dies suddenly in the street right before his eyes.
